/ How to create a brand image targeting producers, exporters, and retailers while also conveying the benefits to the end consumer, who is not Bayer’s primary target?
CHALLENGE ⌜
Identify a new concept and create a name for a type of Galia melon that evokes the original traditional flavor and has a natural system ensuring it is always harvested at its peak. This benefits producers, distributors, retailers, and consumers, resulting in consistently exceptional taste. Additionally, the brand should serve as an umbrella brand for the various seed varieties of the Galia Kirene family marketed by Nunhems, a Bayer company, reinforcing the message related to this new melon concept.
SOLUTION ⌜
We defined the brand platform with the essence: “The Delicious Taste of the Traditional Galia, Always,” and a tagline: “No Doubt. Delicious.” We created a name, “Galkia,” merging “Galia” and “Kirene,” to ensure stakeholder recognition of this variety. For the logo, we chose an image of a halved Galia melon, synthesizing the shape created by its seeds, and combined typographic forms to give the logo a unique personality. The visual environment focuses on evocative images and natural textures to highlight the traditional character of its flavor.

The “Galkia” brand logo beautifully captures the essence of tradition and deliciousness, which are at the heart of the brand. The deep green color evokes a sense of nature and timelessness, emphasizing the brand’s roots in tradition and the natural origins of its products. The circular emblem, made of interlocking leaf shapes, further reinforces this connection to the earth and longstanding agricultural practices, symbolizing a product that is not only fresh but also steeped in heritage. The clean, rounded typography reflects an approachable yet trustworthy product, inviting consumers to enjoy something familiar yet special.
With the tagline “No Doubt. Delicious,” the brand promises an exceptional taste experience that is guaranteed, just as it was in the past. The overall branding speaks to consumers seeking high-quality produce that reminds them of the traditional, authentic flavors they grew up with. Galkia’s design expresses that its products are not only delicious but also reliable and consistent, deeply rooted in tradition while delivering a timeless taste that delights across generations.
